Market Press Release – December 22, 2011 12:25 pm – In October many of us were expecting to see the launch of the new iPhone 5 but instead we saw the excellent iPhone 4S released. Despite some great features being incorporated on this model it is no great secret that the iPhone 5 is likely to be launched in 2012 with many of the improvements that we expected on the 4S but that never materialised. We take a look at what we can expect from the new iPhone 5. Unlike the iPhone 4S the new iPhone 5 is likely to sport a completely new design. This means that we will say goodbye to the stylish glass design that has been used on the last two generations of the model. Expect the new model to be slimmer than ever but also expect a slightly larger overall size as the model will include a brand new bigger display. Although there is no confirmation on the size of the screen it seems very likely that the model will use a 4 inch display which is larger than the 3.5 inches offered on previous models. It is rumoured that this screen will be developed by Sony and apparently the company have already sent top secret demonstration displays to Apple for testing. If the model does offer a larger display then expect it to boast the highest resolution currently available. The Retina display that has been used in the last two phones sported the highest resolution available so it is unlikely that Apple will want to take a step back in this area.

The iPhone 4S was the first Apple phone to give users a dual core processor and this may well be doubled again to enable this new model to offer quad cores. This processor will form part of the new A6 chipset that is being developed by Apple and is likely to be used in the new phone as well as the next generation iPad tablet device. Other leading phone manufacturers are planning on launching quad core devices in the first half of 2012 so it is highly likely that Apple will follow suit. This boost in processor specification will improve performance times expected from the phone with multi tasking features benefiting more than most. When the iPhone 5 does finally arrive expect it to be a huge success with consumers. The new design is likely to tempt many people to change who opted not to when the iPhone 4S was released while the bigger screen will have obvious advantages for games and movie playback on this handset.
