The goods trade deficit of Britain has narrowed down more than it was expected in the month July, hit by the record of the exports to the countries which are outside the European Union that is EU as well as an improvement in the trade balance of oil and also diamonds.
The officials of the Office for National Statistics that is ONS had to say that the deficit in the trading of the good had shrank to 7.49 billion pounds in the month of July from that of 10.068 billion pounds in the month of June, which has beaten the record of the forecasts of the economists with a gap of no less than 9 billion pounds.
This was the narrowest deficit since the month of February of the last year that is 2011, which was helped by the biggest rise in the sum total of the exports of the goods from the time the records had began in the year 1998. The deficit in the trading of the goods with the non-EU countries has also narrowed down to an amount of 2.877 billion pounds in the month of July from the figure of 5.077 billion pounds in the month of June as well as against the forecasts for a gap of almost 4.5 billion pounds. This was the smallest gap since the month of October in the year 2005.
The sum total of the deficit in trade has narrowed down to an amount of 1.517 billion pounds, down from the sum of 4.333 billion pounds in the month of June. Nevertheless, the turmoil which the euro zone was facing as well as the signs of a slowdown in some of the major emerging markets have also dented hopes of a rise in the demand of the exports that could have driven growth in an economy that was hurt by the austerity measures from the side of the government which had aimed at erasing a huge deficit in the budget.
