Not only does the latest version of the phones operating system now offer Twitter integration but the Facebook application has undergone some changes and now looks better than ever on this new model.
Facebook is the most popular social networking platform in the world with over 800 million active users. The service is not only great for keeping contact with friends but many companies and organisations now offer their own Facebook page so they can communicate with potential and existing customers. The original Facebook application for the iPhone was not popular with users of the site but this latest version is a vast improvement. The original version offered users a main screen which comprised of nine icons which related to various aspects of the site such as Messages and Events. This system has now been replaced by a side bar which can be accessed via a button at the top of the screen. This side bar offers many more options than the previous menu so in addition to all of the regular features you will now find information on groups and pages that you like as well as apps that you use within the site.

The new Facebook application for the iPhone 4S looks much the same as the desktop version that many of us are used to. Notifications, messages and friend requests now appear as icons at the top of the screen with a small red number besides each symbol letting you now when you have a request or message waiting. The news feed has also been improved so you are now presented with recent stories that may be of interest to you followed by stories from earlier on in the day. The iPhone 4S itself also adds to the appeal of Facebook thanks to its new notifications centre. You can now swipe downwards on the homescreen to instantly reveal all of your recent Facebook alerts. From here you can simply select the one you wish to view in more detail and you are taken directly to the site.
