Market Press Release – January 11, 2012 10:13 am – The HTC Desire S is an upgraded version of the hugely popular HTC Desire, which won “Phone of the Year” from gadget magazine T3, in 2010. In this article I will take a closer look at some of the key features of the HTC Desire S.
Camera
The HTC Desire S is well equipped to take good quality still photos thanks to 5 megapixel camera with a resolution of 2502x 1944. The camera comes equipped with autofocus, LED flash, image stabilisation and touch focus. These features make it easy to take perfect pictures every time, whilst remaining simple to use. The camera can also be used to capture video footage with settings of up to 720p high definition available.
Memory
The HTC Desire S has a useful 1.1 GHz of internal storage provided as standard. This is a decent amount to get you started off, holding dozens of music tracks, photos, videos and other files. When you reach a point where you require further storage, you can then utilise the built in micro SD slot. This can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB, which can comfortably store an entire music collection along with numerous other files.

Screen
The HTC Desire S has a 3.7 inch S-LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 480x 800. This is a good resolution for a variety of everyday tasks, which includes viewing photos and videos, as well as playing games and browsing the web. The handset comes with an accelerometer sensor which automatically rotates the user interface based upon the orientation of the handset, allowing various tasks to be carried out in either portrait or landscape, such as writing an SMS or playing a game.

The HTC Desire S is well equipped to browse the internet. This is thanks to connections provided by both 3G coverage and Wi-Fi. The HTC Sense UI which runs over the top of the Android Gingerbread OS provides the default web browsing app, and there are several other which can be downloaded from the Android Market such as Opera Mini and Mozilla Firefox.
The HTC Desire S builds on the winning formula of the original, and adds a few performance enhancements bringing it up to date with the latest smartphone technology.
