Market Press Release – January 3, 2012 5:56 pm – In this article I will take a look at some of the main features of one of the new smartphone from Nokia. The 701 offers a good mid range smartphone, and is an ideal alterative to some of the more popular smartphone brands.
Internet Browsing
The Nokia 701 is well equipped for browsing the internet. Like the iPhone 4S, HTC Sensation and HTC Desire HD, it has data download speeds of up to 14.4 megabytes per second. This means that the content on web pages loads quickly, and YouTube videos load quickly with little buffering. The alternative connection is provided by Wi-Fi, allowing users to surf the web with a fast and reliable connection whenever they have the appropriate access to local wireless networks.
Screen
The screen on the Nokia 701 is impressive. It is not the most advanced screen in the world, but does a good job of displaying photos and videos in high quality thanks to a resolution of 360x 640. Within the 3.5 inch dimensions of the screen, this resolution is up to the task. The screen can display up to 16 million colours, and thanks to the LED-backlit IPS TFT capacitive touchscreen technology (the same as the iPhone 4S), the screen remains bright and visible outdoors, and blacks appear deep.

Storage
It is unlikely that you will ever run out of storage with the Nokia 701. This is because there is 8 GB of user available storage included as standard, as well as a micro SD slot. Although the latter does not have a card included with it, users can install a card of up to 32 GB, so you can potentially have 40GB of available storage. Therefore, thousands of music tracks, numerous videos, photos applications and documents can be stored within the phone, available at your fingertips.
Camera
As with most smartphones, the Nokia 701 comes with a built in digital camera. At 8 megapixels (3264x 2448 resolution), the resulting images are generally of very good quality, aided further by features such as face detection, fixed focus and dual LED flash. The camera can also shoot video footage in high definition (720p quality) as an alternative to still images. The handset has a TV-out socket, which allows you to stream your photos and videos directly to a compatible TV, and show off your handiwork on the big screen.
All of the features above outline the level of technology you can expect from the Nokia 701, and combined with a powerful 1 GHz processor and the new Symbian Belle OS, a great user experience is assured. If you are looking for an alternative to mid range handsets such as the HTC Desire and Apple iPhone 4, the Nokia 701 comes highly recommended.
