Market Press Release – May 12, 2011 6:22 am – The GPXL-617 Grand Piano Lamp by House of Troy is a state of the art lamp that is specifically designed for use on a grand or baby grand piano .
Proper lighting is essential when doing work that requires close up reading, as in playing or practicing the piano. House of Troy Piano Lamps are specially designed to allow for flexibility in directing light exactly where you need it, on the music and the piano keys. The piano lamps by House of Troy are engineered with musicians in mind. The attention to detail in these lamps is a priority. Among the features they offer are flexibility in directing light, height adjustable arms and shades, a choice of incandescent, fluorescent, or LED lighting technology, a variety of styles from clamp and desktop styles to balance arm and floor lamps, and portability as many are lightweight and easy to transport, allowing musicians to carry them to performances and rehearsals.
The GPXL-617 is a clamp on lamp that fastens to the music holder (music desk) of a Grand Piano and is held in place by tightening two thumbscrews at the rear of the clamp. The clamp is specially designed with an inner section that is lined with felt to protect the piano from being scratched. The clamp will not cause any damage to your piano. The on/off switch is conveniently located in the cord 3” from the clamp for easy access. The shade of this lamp is 22” long, which spreads the light across the entire length of an open music book or sheet music. This is a great feature because it allows you to clearly read every section of your music without having to re-position the shade. The shade also swivels so that you can further focus the light in any direction.
The GPXL-617 takes four 15-watt bulbs called 15T4 bulbs. This provides the pianist with 60 watts of focused light, reducing eyestrain and aiding in concentration by making it easy for the pianist to clearly read the music. The height of the lamp is adjustable which allows you to place the shade either very close to the top of the music, or further away for more clearance when turning pages. This is a great feature that is not available in other clamp-on style piano lamps.
The GPXL-617 is a black lamp with beautiful brass accents. It looks great on black, mahogany, walnut, and cherry finished pianos. For your convenience, House of Troy makes this same lamp in a polished brass finish (GPXL-22-61) or a black with satin nickel finish (GPXL-627).
Details: • Height: Adjustable • Clamp: Felt Lined - Adjusts from 1/4" to 1" • Shade: 1" x 22" Rotating • Bulbs: 4 15T4 bulbs (Included) • Switch: on cord - 3" from Clamp • Cord: 10' • 2 Year Manufacturer's Warranty
This lamp is lightweight and portable, making it easy to transport. Simply unplug the cord, loosen the thumbscrews, take the lamp off of the music desk, and wrap the cord around the lamp for a compact way to bring the lamp along with you to rehearsals and performances. It is a good idea to protect the lamp by wrapping it in something soft while traveling with it.
House of troy piano lamps are the best lamps available for use on your piano. If you are looking for a high quality piano lamp for your grand or baby grand piano, you should consider the GPXL-617 Grand Piano Lamp.
