This attractive phone has a solid metal exterior which is very slim with dimensions of 125.9 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm and weighing just 122 grams. This makes it a comfortable phone to hold and operate. With a 1.4 GHz single-core processor this phone has Bada OS 2.0 which operates smoothly without any glitches. The Live Panel is a dedicated pane of full-sized widgets and the phone is loaded with Samsung Apps which are unique and new ones are being added all the time. The appearance of this phone is sleek with power/lock key on the right and the volume rocker on the left. It has a 3.5 mm jack on the top along with a micro USB port. The microSD card slot is located inside the back cover for the battery and placed next to the SIM card slot.
The Samsung Wave 3 comes with a four-inch screen which has a Super AMOLED display. The home screen can have up to ten panels at a time and offers an ideal multitasking platform. The Dolphin browser is used on this phone which offers a search option and also a download manager. The My Files app is an effective file manager which also works as an image gallery. The 5 megapixel camera comes with autofocus and LED flash. It also has a face, smile and blink detection and with a 480 x 800 resolution it gives fine colours and wide viewing angles. The video player gives powerful and smooth output and supports DivX/XviD/MP4/H.264/MKV files. HD video recording of 720 pixels at the rate of 30 frames per second makes it a good quality video recording phone.

The user interface for the music player is excellent and the audio output is perfect through the headphones. FM radio is also available with options to store up to eight favourite radio stations. The pre-installed navigation system has a very sensitive receiver on board. The phonebook capacity is very large and a dedicated setting can bring all the contacts in the phone memory and the SIM in one place. The phone also supports voice commands and voice dictation. Bluetooth version 3.0 is supported on this phone making it easy to share various files with other compatible phones. This phone also works as a standard micro USB port and the connection modes available are Modem, Mass Storage, Samsung Kies and USB. Samsung Kies is the software for connecting the phone to a PC. The Mass Storage option allows the phone to use its 1 GB internal memory and that in the removable memory card in the microSD slot. the latter allows users to store up to 32 GB of additional data by installing an appropriate memory card.
The powerhouse of the Samsung Wave 3 is the 1500mAh battery which gives more than eight hours of talk time and unbelievable 480 hours of standby time. The WiFi connectivity is supported on 802.11 a/b/g/n and also Wi-Fi Direct. The Samsung Wave 3 is loaded with a full version of Polaris Office which supports Word, Excel and PowerPoint including version Office 2007. The Samsung Wave 3 with the Bada OS is definitely a great alternative to those who are not won over by the many Android devices currently flooding the market.
