Market Press Release – October 6, 2011 5:55 pm – This autumn sees the release of two impressive new devices from smartphone specialists HTC. Previously we looked at the processing power and the camera features present on the Sensation XE and the Titan models. Here we take a closer look at some other areas of these handsets including screen technology, design and software.
Both of these two models sport larges touchscreen displays capable of showing a very high quality of image. The HTC Sensation XE uses a 4.3 inch S-LCD screen. This S-LCD technology is an improvement over earlier LCD versions and results in a clearer picture along with a much thinner design. Resolution wise the model can display an impressive 540 x 960 pixels which equates to a very high pixels per inch rating of 256. As you would expect the model supports multi touch input which enables useful features such as pinch and zoom to be incorporated. The HTC Titan uses a larger 4.7 inch screen but one which displays a lower resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The result of this lower quality is that the pixels per inch rating of this model drops to just 199. Both of these phones offer the great build quality that we have come to expect from HTC. Whilst never being groundbreaking in their design they do maintain a stylish and eye catching look that is not dissimilar to many previous models that have been released by the brand. There really is very little to choose between these models when it comes to design although the younger audience may prefer the flashes of red that have been added to the Sensation XE chassis.

The HTC Sensation XE and the Titan both run on different operating platforms which means there are major differences in how the two models operate. The HTC Sensation XE uses the popular Android OS which has been developed by Google. The handset uses version 2.3.4 of the Software which features many improvements over previous versions. The user interface looks better than ever and this is helped by the incorporation of Sense technology that has been developed by HTC. This makes social networking integration really stand out which will please the younger audience who will inevitably be drawn to this model. The Titan runs on the relatively new Windows 7.5 platform which features over 500 improvements from the original . These include much better social networking facilities and the use of the new Internet Explorer 9 web browser. Despite differences in how they operate both of these platforms perform admirably and it really boils down to personal preference as to which one you eventually choose. Regardless of your decision you will not be disappointed with the outcome.
