Schools in central and western Oklahoma participated in the eight-week drive to raise food and monetary donations to help fight hunger in Oklahoma. Each participating school held their own contests to raise as many meals as possible, but APMEX.com wanted to recognize two schools who hit certain achievements: Most Meals Overall and Most Improved from the year prior.

"We have worked with the Regional Food Bank for many years now," APMEX.com Founder and President Scott Thomas said. "This is the second time we have sponsored their Students Against Hunger campaign and we could not have been more excited to do so. In addition to helping educate younger generations about the prevalence of hunger in our own state, we wanted to do something special for those schools that went above and beyond. We are honored to celebrate these schools and look forward to working with the Regional Food Bank in the future to continue helping our fellow Oklahomans."

After donating what amounts to 56,745 meals, Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in Oklahoma City won Most Meals Overall for the second year in a row. They will receive a unique trophy from APMEX.com and the Regional Food Bank, plus bragging rights for the year. Each student will also receive a special gift certificate courtesy of Andy's Frozen Custard.

Mount St. Mary Catholic High School, also in Oklahoma City, brought in a total of 10,519 meals, earning the Most Improved award. They too will be recognized and honored during an upcoming school assembly.

"Students Against Hunger is a great opportunity for children to give back to their communities and we are so appreciative of the continued support from APMEX for this drive," Regional Food Bank Chief Executive Officer Katie Fitzgerald said. "APMEX is an important partner in our fight against hunger."

For many years, APMEX has worked with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to give back to those who need it most. Join in helping fight hunger across the state during the 2018 Holiday Match Campaign from Nov. 15, 2018, to Jan. 15, 2019. Normally, every $1 donated to the Regional Food Bank provides four meals. Thanks to APMEX.com, the Cresap Family Foundation and Chesapeake Energy Corporation, every donation received during the Match Campaign will be matched dollar for dollar up to $600,000, for a total donation of $1.2 million this holiday season.
