For instance, many employers these days require a background check before signing on a new employee. “Anyone who wants to get a job working with the public or with children will have to give permission for a background check. Then, the employer calls us to do the check,” says McBride.
“Another common request is for help in finding missing persons”, he added, “because kids run away from home, or a spouse ends up missing. But, we get a lot of calls trying to find people for family matters, like executing a will or for medical information.”
Businesses will also hire private detectives to administer polygraph tests as a matter of routine. This is one reason, according to McBride, that the client needs to make sure that his private eye in NYC is properly certified.
