Austrian Philharmonics are recognized around the world for their iconic imagery depicting the Vienna Philharmonic, perhaps the most-renowned orchestra in the world.

The Gold Philharmonic, the first release of the Philharmonic bullion series, was introduced in 1989 and gained immediate popularity. According to the World Gold Council, it was the best-selling Gold coin in 1992, 1995 and 1996. A Silver version was released in 2008 and saw similar success. Finally, in 2016, the Austrian Mint released a Platinum version that has opened up the series to new buyers.

"Precious Metals collectors and investors in all parts of the world treasure the Austrian Philharmonic," APMEX CEO Ken Lewis said. "This series is valued for its classic images, high metal content and the variety of metal options and sizes. Being produced in Gold, Silver and Platinum provides a wide range of shopping opportunities that our customers enjoy year after year."

The obverse of each Austrian Philharmonic coin depicts the Great Organ of the Golden Hall in Vienna's concert hall, the Musikverein. The year, metal content and face value are also listed. On the reverse, an array of orchestral instruments is shown, including the cello, harp, violin, Vienna horn and bassoon.

Austrian Philharmonic coins truly have a global reach, for they are as iconic and beautiful as they are popular. Find all 2019 Gold, Silver and Platinum Philharmonics now available to pre-order at APMEX.
