The Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has highlighted a lot of positives he sees in the Raptors defense thus far in the season, including power forward Andrea Bargnani who lead the team in the preseason with 21 points. Casey emphasizes Bargnani’s impact on the court and his ability to work both ends of the floor. Despite this strong focus on defense, Dwane Casey does not want Bargnani acting as the team’s anchor, but rather hopes it is something the team harps on, and continues to execute as a whole throughout the season. With some positives to note in regards to the Toronto Raptor’s defense, the team will also have to improve their offensive strategy and shooting percentage against this energetic Cavalier lineup. The team has already expressed a desire to utilize its young legs in order to capitalize on the back-to-back games and condensed schedule, by hopefully bouncing back quicker than other teams. So if top forwards Bargnani and DeRozan can capitalize on scoring opportunities, then the young Toronto Raptors team has the potential to exceed expectations this season and surprise a lot of fans.
