Can you fall in love with a person, a landscape, a city or a country in only 10 seconds? According to Luis Rojas Marcos, the renowned Spanish psychiatrist, 10 seconds is more than enough. This is the underlying premise of the latest digital marketing campaign by Turespaña, Spain's official tourism board. Rojas Marcos challenges travelers to post short videos explaining how they fell in love with Spain.

American tourism to Spain has skyrocketed in recent years, with the number of visitors increasing from 1.2 million in 2014 to 2.7 million in 2017. This new campaign seeks to boost that trend by getting travelers to fall in love with the country from afar.

Spanish personalities from the worlds of film, music, food, sports and fashion have taken up the challenge and shared their opinions on life in Spain, their personal experiences and preferred destinations.

Professional golfer Sergio García, who plays on both the PGA Tour and European Tour, invites everyone to play golf in Spain at any time of the year, thanks to our wonderful climate. He does so from the Valderrama Golf Club in San Roque (Cadiz), one of the many top-class golf courses in our country. Moreover, he urges everyone to discover the coastal town of Peñíscola in his native region, Castellen. This is one of the most beautiful towns in Spain with its medieval Papa Luna castle, a setting used in Game of Thrones.

Famous actress and model Elsa Pataky, best known for her recurring role in The Fast and the Furious movie franchise, shares a stunning view of the Cap de Formentor. In other videos she reveals two of her passions: shopping in the vibrant Born district of Barcelona and enjoying the famous Madrid nightlife on one of the terraces offering spectacular views over the city.

Fernando Alonso, the Formula One racing champion, shares a view of Segovia and its stunning Roman aqueduct bridge, one of the best-preserved elevated aqueducts in the world. He always feels nostalgia when he is back in Spain and deeply admires its beauty.

The ever-growing list already includes other internationally-recognized Spaniards such as the tennis player Rafael Nadal who encourages everyone to share the love we feel for Spain, the actress Paz Vega, who shares the love she feels for Seville, from beneath the imposing tower of its cathedral, the Giralda, the fashion designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, who takes on the role of arts and culture ambassador from La Pedrera, the impressive modernist building in Barcelona by Antonio Gaudí; or Javier Fernandez, world-champion figure skater, who proudly displays the dreamlike golden sands of Papagayo Beach on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

Another prominent figure who has accepted the challenge is the dancer Tamara Rojo, artistic director of the English National Ballet in London, who shows us her beloved Royal Theater in Madrid, as well as spectacular views of Toledo. The list would be incomplete without a representative of our cuisine. Juan Maria Arzak, one of the Spanish chefs who can boast having a restaurant with three Michelin stars. Finally, the Olympic champion for badminton at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, Carolina Maren, enjoys jogging around Madrid, with the iconic Puerta de Alcale as a backdrop.

The campaign can be followed on the website and on the Turespaña social networks (IG: @spain | TW: @spain | FB: or via the hashtag #spainin10sec.
