During the January 10th game, Wizards Coach Flip Saunders decided to revamp the team and change their front line, benching forwards Andray Blatche and Rashard Lewis and putting in Chris Singleton and Trevor Booker as replacements. Saunders said he decided the day before the game to change the lineup, as Blatche and Lewis both had a sore knee, thinking this would be the best move to score a victory over the Raptors. Both entered the game with three minutes to go in the first half.
Turning out to be a wise move, there’s no telling what Saunders has up his sleeve for the upcoming game in Toronto. Raptors coach Dwane Casey knew they didn’t match the Wizard’s fight last game. “We knew they were a hungry team, they were a wounded team. They were going to come out scratching and fighting.”
Toronto Raptors leading scorer Andrea Bargnani has been out for a good chunk of the season with a sprained calf muscle, which is having its toll on the Raptors’ standing. With eight consecutive losses behind them, even Casey admits their stats have been horrendous. The Raptors, who had a 13 game losing streak last season haven't reached the 100 point mark in 16 straight games. Nursing his injury, Bargnani is expected to recover and make an appearance on the court soon, helping improve the team’s stats and bringing them to victory once again.
