September 22, 2012: Children with learning disabilities often fall below the academic level, despite having immense potential. The main reason for that is the lack of teachers and caregivers who know the right strategies to deal with learning disabilities as well as social and emotional issues associated with that. However, the right knowledge of the condition that causes learning disabilities will help caregivers to use right intervention to help the children holistically apart from improving their academic performance. For the first time in Israel, an exclusive training program is designed for people who have their mission to help children with learning disabilities and learning problems. This program is a three-year study program which aims at holistic treatment of children with learning disabilities as well as emotional and social adjustment problems. The curriculum of the program includes the theoretical and practical knowledge about various topics such as cognitive development of children, emotional and social development of children,
These days most of the children suffer from anxiety, anguish, anger, excessive competition and often are the victim of emotional disorders. Therefore, it is the duty of parents as well as educators to provide the right care that will help these children come out of emotional trauma and start enjoying the life. A holistic and multi-disciplinary approach that includes both formal and informal tools along with therapeutic methods can cure such disorders effectively. A therapist should have a thorough knowledge, a deep understanding of the relationship of a child with parent as well as the willingness to make a difference in the lives of children suffering from learning disabilities.
The 3-year study program is meant for not only caregivers, but also alternative therapists, teachers, kindergarten teachers, student teachers and just about anyone who wants to help children with learning disabilities and learning problems. Students who successfully complete the course can work as psychologists, counselors, paramedical professionals, speech therapists, occupational therapists etc.
