Market Press Release – June 8, 2011 2:48 pm – HTC's new flagship mobile phone is also their first ever handset to feature a dual core processor, the HTC Sensation offers the very best that the manufacturer has to offer in terms of design, user experience and features and has now been released in the UK.

Released yes, but as a network exclusive mobile phone. The HTC Sensation was snapped up in an agreement between the UK mobile network Vodafone and the manufacturer so that consumers can only buy the HTC Sensation on their network for a limited time launch period.

The good news for consumers is that this initial exclusive release period is now drawing to a close, this will mean that both rival UK networks and independent retailers will start receiving stocks of the new Sensation very soon and some are already showing how competitive the alternative network deals match up.

This said, Vodafone has allowed a few close knitted retailers to also market this top end HTC phone on their network but with the retailers own deals, this has resulted in a price war which has already brought down the cost of owning the Sensation phone.

Vodafone themselves will only provide the phone free of charge to customers signing up to a 24 month contract deal at £36 per month, whereas two retailers are now offering this new HTC phone free of charge at just £25 per month on a 24 month contract.

It has now been confirmed by one of the larger UK retailers that those pre-ordering the HTC Sensation on networks other than Vodafone will have their orders fulfilled on June 20th 2011, at around the same time it is likely that more of the smaller retailers will also secure their own stocks of this new phone and a new price war will break out to benefit the consumer further.

The HTC Sensation has already been beaten to market by no less than three new phones sporting the latest dual core processor technology, these include the first ever dual core phone in the form of the LG Optimus 2X quickly followed by the Motorola Atrix and Samsung Galaxy S2.

It's the latter of these that provides the stiffest competition to the HTC Sensation with both models packing in a 1.2GHz dual core processor and same sized touch screen, the difference comes in the screens technology with Samsung opting for Super AMOLED Plus and HTC a qHD display.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a thinner and lighter model whilst the HTC Sensation is manufactured from a single piece of aluminium for robustness, they sport the same camera technology with each offering an 8 mega pixel lens and both can capture HD quality video clips.

When it comes to choosing between these two models it is very much down to a personal decision, probably based on looks and the user experience.

So, to conclude, the HTC Sensation will be available to consumers on Orange, T-Mobile, O2 and the dedicated 3G network; 3 Mobile from June 20th with pre-orders being sent out on the day and new contract deals available for next day delivery from then on.
