Market Press Release – January 21, 2010 1:51 am – PISCATAWAY, N.J., Jan 19, 2010 -Internationally recognized biology contract research organization GenScript USA Inc. has recently launched click peptide service. The service is designed to handle low water-solubility and aggregative nature of hydrophobic peptide and serve as a tool to study the functions of peptides in Chemical Biology-oriented research.
A “click peptide” is a chemically-modified peptide precursor used to understand the biological function of peptides. With considerations on the peptide’s physicochemical property and biological activity, GenScript’s click peptide service is based on the O-acyl isopeptide method developed by Dr. Atsuhiko Taniguchi. No byproducts are released in the process, which can be triggered quickly by changes in pH (pH 7.4 or above). “GenScript’s click peptide service,” commented Dr. Sean Li, Director of GenScript’s Peptide Dept., “will help you handle difficult peptides you intended to study in your research.”
One particular application of click peptide mechanism is the preparation of β-amyloid in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) by photochemically inducible or pH-triggered activation of peptide self-assembly.
GenScript is a contract research organization (CRO) specialized in biological research and drug discovery services. Its service portfolio includes bio-reagent services, assay development & screening, lead optimization, and antibody drug development. The renowned one-stop bioreagent services include custom gene synthesis and molecular biology, custom protein expression and purification, custom peptide synthesis, antibody production, and custom cell line development. Headquartered in Piscataway, New Jersey, GenScript has become a world-leading Biology CRO and the largest gene synthesis supplier in the USA, with subsidiaries in France, Japan, and China.
