Adobe ColdFusion is an application server, renowned for rapid development of dynamic websites, with a straightforward language (CFML), powerful methods for packaging and reusing code, and AJAX support that helps developer powerful web applications quickly.
This books starts off with the basics of ColdFusion programming, application architecture, and object reuse, before moving on to a range of topics such as RESTful Web Services, AJAX library integration, and PDF creation and manipulation to name a few. It teaches users to bring their ColdFusion Components (CFCs) to life using object inheritance, and connecting to a database through the internal methods of their object/CFCs. They will learn to power mix CFCs and custom tags using COOP library as an example to simplify view coding.
Users will learn to manage multiple products through common forms for listing, editing, and adding data. They will learn to pass information into a custom tag, and the different methods of storing and accessing tags and tag libraries. They will be taught how to authenticate users for roles and permissions, and integrate Feed, REST, and SOAP web services to interact with other sites. This book runs users through debugging and unit testing techniques, and with the help of CFML, will teach users to manage files, emails, and images. Users will learn how to interact on the ORM database, which covers the new data integration of Hibernate.
