Makita, one of the world’s largest power tool manufacturers, are celebrating 40 years since the opening of their first UK based operation. Established in 1915 in Nargoya, Japan, Makita have come a long way since their beginnings and now have stores and representation in 150 countries. Makita began their UK involvement with offices based in Luton. The company continued to grow at an extreme rate and after a 10 year UK presence, they moved to purpose built offices in Milton Keynes. The power tool giants also have a UK manufacturing and distribution plant in Telford. Makita have regularly partnered with leading power tool suppliers to encourage a wider consumer base. Makita joined forces with CBS Power Tools in 1972 and have enjoyed a strong, growing relationship ever since. CBS are one of the biggest independent Makita dealers in the UK. Based in Peterborough, they supply customers with electric and battery operated power tools for industry, home and garden users.
The partnership enables both parties to provide target consumers with only the best products and advice. CBS Power Tools not only sells the Makita powertools and promotes their brand, but also undertakes warranty repairs on behalf of the Makita organisation. “We have a long standing, healthy relationship with the Makita brand and both our companies have grown and developed with each other.
