Market Press Release – October 14, 2011 5:05 pm – The iPhone 4 (or any other iPhone model for that matter; you either love it or you hate it. Apple has once again shown that it is the force to contend within the smartphone market. With a stunning new display and a speedy processor, the iPhone 4 is the biggest upgrade in the Apple series of smartphones. It showcases the iOS4 and the A4 processor which is based on the Samsung built ARM Cortex-A8 design with a speed of 1GHz, offering dazzling performance.
The most noticeable thing about the iPhone 4 is the Retina display with a resolution of 960x640 pixels, the highest resolution of any smartphone on the market. This has brought a better user experience than the previous versions of iPhone. As compared to the super AMOLED displays the retina display has shown better results in contrast, brightness and direct sunlight readability. It uses the same IPS found on the iPad with LED backlighting, a contrast ratio of 800:1 and a pixel density of 326ppi. As yet the display is unmatchable to the rest of the screen displays in terms of sharpness and boldness of colors.
The iPhone 4 has taken a remarkable evolution in the design aspect as well. The front and back sides of the iPhone 4 are flat, with stainless steel border and glass surface. The CEO of Apple has already promised a scratch and crack resistant glass which has as yet proven to be true.
The iPhone 4 is similar in dimensions to the iPhone 3GS but thinner by 25% which makes it among the slimmest handsets available. Once again Apple has been slow to innovate on the camera aspect but it has gone for the new front facing VGA camera this time. With loads of new features the smartphone pretty much runs circles around its 3GS predecessor. With 7 applications able to run in the background the phone offers multitasking with less drain on battery life and memory. The limit in multitasking might be unexpected for some users but it also allows running of certain features of some applications, and closes apps automatically if the user is not using it after a certain period. That is multitasking in a true sense of the word.
