Market Press Release – November 13, 2011 12:15 pm – The new HTC Sensation XE is a handset that excited us very much when it was announced. One of the main reasons was the incorporation of Beats Audio technology to give you the ultimate sound when using the phone as an audio player. Here we want to put the music capabilities of this phone to one side and take a closer look at the video and camera features present on this excellent model. When looking over the specification of this phone you will see the device offers the kind of features that one would expect from a premium smartphone. A 3264 x 2448 resolution results in still images at 8 mega pixel quality whilst video capture is superb at 1080P resolution. Looking at the camera interface you will find that the screen is well designed. All of the controls that you need to operate the camera are located on the right hand side of the screen with the shutter button in the centre of all of these options and easy to activate using your right thumb. The camera feature includes touch focus and face detection but the most useful feature is the continuous autofocus. This means that wherever you point the lens the camera will automatically focus to help reduce blurred images. Older systems used to rely upon you pressing the shutter once to focus before capturing you photograph but now you can take your photo the second that you are ready. Image quality on the HTC Sensation XE is on a par with many rival models with the iPhone 4S being the only model that is visually superior.

In terms of layout the interface is very similar to the still camera feature with the record button situated on the right hand side of the screen along with other recording options. Once again an autofocus is present but this only works up until the point when you start recording and then it is locked meaning that footage may appear out of focus if you move closer towards a subject. As you would expect from this model the audio recording is superb. Stereo sound at 44Khz is possible which represents a big improvement over the mono sound that is recorded by devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S2. In terms of recording quality the footage we recorded was pleasing enough. There was not shake or judder on our sample video and image clarity was very clear but not to an extent where it outshines its near rivals. As an overall multi media package the HTC Sensation XE is one of the very best mobile handsets available. The superb video and camera features sit perfectly besides the excellent audio features and make this phone an essential purchase for multi media lovers.
