The handset itself also has the iTunes app built in as standard, so users are already set up to download music and videos straight to their phone. The AppStore is the Apple’s medium through which users of the iPhone 4S and other Apple devices can browse and download additional supplication straight to their device. There are currently over 500,000 apps and counting, within numerous categories. Some are free whilst other require a payment through the same bank and card details used to register with iTunes. Apple recently announced that over 1 billion apps have been downloaded, and this is no surprise, as apps are a major part of the appeal of smartphones as a whole.
As you can see, these three services complement each other brilliantly. Brand loyalty is important to a company like Apple, and millions of consumers are so used to the multimedia platform outlined above and this is a massive part of the appeal of Apple device like the iPhone 4S. It is also the reason why so many keep coming back and upgrading to the latest versions. Despite increasing competition from Android and Windows Phone powered devices, Apple is definitely here to stay as a major player in the smartphone market (and tablet market for that matter), and its multimedia ecosystem plays a large part in this.
